Welcome to Kolejkowo Gliwice!

We have made huge efforts to imitate as precisely as possible the reality and the life of the inhabitants of Kolejkowo who are shown in a variety of daily situations.

In the miniature world you will have a chance to observe the rural life and accompany tourists during their mountain expeditions. You will also take part in a rescue operation and play roles of foresters, skiers, buyers, construction workers, circus artists or sunbathers. There are train and cars moving around Kolejkowo. It is also the only model in Poland with a sailing ship. There are night and day in our world. The day lasts 9 minutes, then there is the night; street lamps light up as well as the lights inside the buildings. It is beautiful!

We have created miniatures of authentic Silesian structures , for example the railway station in Gliwice along with platforms, the Town Office in Gliwice, and tenement houses. We wouldn’t be ourselves, if we didn’t invent something extra! A western city “ Wild Gliwice” was created, you will find there a saloon, a sheriff, the Indians, the Wright brothers working on the first plane in the world and a miniature model of the ship “Western River”, sailing along the Mississippi River.

We will show you the beautiful world of Silesia in miniature, a land shaped by history and hard work of miners.

Rail Station in Gliwice
Gliwice Rail Station is an important communication node in Poland. It also plays an important part of Europe’s rail network. In Kolejkowo, you will be able to see its shapes in colors under many different light conditions. The way you see it during night and day, are completely different experiences - it’s definitely something that fascinates our visitors each time they see it. Apart from that, it is also crucial to the miniature world’s communication network. This is the place where many our trains stop and start new journeys places the fascinating places we created on the mockup.

Wild Gliwice
Wild Gliwice emerged straight from our unleashed imagination. Thanks to this wonderful part of our miniature world, you will get to see places that normally existed only in the world of Indians and cowboys of North America. You quickly notice such buildings as the saloon, or the sheriff's office. But that’s only the beginning. In the close neighbourhood of the wild wild west world, the Wright brothers prepare their aeroplane for the first flight and on the river nearby the wonderful ship “Western River” cruises with miniature passengers aboard. It’s a scene you will never forget!

Radio station in Gliwice
The radio station in Gliwice is unique in every way. With the height of 111 meters it holds the record of Europe’s tallest wood construction. It was made from larch wood but the builders didn’t use a single nail on it! It was an important communication device during the second world war. Now it’s a popular museum. Our model of that building is 4 meters high and is the tallest object in the miniature world.

Zamek w Będzinie w miniaturze – Kolejkowo Gliwice
Będzin Castle
In the Kolejkowo in Gliwice, a castle that was once an ancient stronghold of the Eagle's Nests system of Kazimierz Wielki towers over a picturesque lake and a cave inhabited by a real dragon. Nearby, brave knights participate in a tournament, which is watched by miniature residents of Kolejkowo spending their free time by the water.

Nikiszowiec miners' estate
Nikiszowiec is a miners’ estate in Katowice that emerged in the XX century. It played an important role in the history of the Silesian region. It’s characteristic buildings made from red bricks amd the smell of coal dust are known to every Katowice citizen. It is also the place where many tiny shops and workshops with traditional craftsmen are based. There are no two equal buildings there. Each block of flats has something unique to it, which makes this place even more special.

How Kolejkowo is made?

Buildings
Realism is the priority to us. That's why strive to imitate the reality as close as possible. Old tenement houses from the Wroclaw Town Square, Swiebodzki Railway Station, or even the small bench from the Wroclaw Brochow station - they all were created based on real photos and very detailed measurements of their elements. Whenever we have a possibility to check the real construction plans, we do that as well. That’s why our buildings are so realistic and reflect the real ones so close.

Trains
It would be hard to imagine a place like Kolejkowo without trains. They move between miniature stations keeping the miniature world alive. They carry passengers, wood, coal and many other things. Their average speed is around 1,5 km/h - so that every our visitor can see their beautiful details as they cruise close to them. Daily an average train in Kolejkowo reaches around 12 km of millage. Monthly, it translates into almost 400 km.

Vehicles
Cars are a natural part of the modern world. They make us mobile and free when it comes to traveling. Sometimes we complain when they cause traffic jams and contribute to air pollution, but you can’t imagine a contemporary city without them. In Kolejkowo vehicles drive around streets - just like in reality. Thanks to modern technology they drive safely and omit each other on crossings. Unlike the real cars however, they are fueled by electricity, so they are much more environmentally friendly.

The miniature city never sleeps. 7 days a week, during night and day, it stays awake all the time. Just like in real world, in Kolejkowo you will experience day and night. You will be able to see how the miniature world changes under different light conditions and observe the life of miniature citizens from a different perspective. In our world the day lasts for 9 minutes and then the sun sets for 4 minutes.

Storm
Our miniature world is probably the only mockup in the world where you can experience a real storm. Every 8 minutes, over miniature Ruda Śląska, thunders are heard and lightnings struck the cloudy sky in two. Just like in reality, real rain falls from the sky and the miniature buildings figures are covered in water. You can also hear realistic storms and light effects, which make the entire scene as close as it can be to reality.

We are open everyday, 365 days per year, also in sundays and holidays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

What are the opening hours?

Kolejkowo is open 10:00 am through 6:00 pm, 365 days a year. We are open even on national holidays.
What are the ticket prices for individuals?

The prices for individual tickets are 50 PLN regular and 40 PLN discounted.
What discounts do you offer?

The discount applies to children between the ages of 3 and 18, as well as to students, pensioners and disabled persons. Children under the age of 3 can enter for free.
Do you have to buy tickets online?

You can buy tickets online, as well as on-site. However, buying the tickets earlier online will give you the guarantee that you won’t be waiting to enter the exhibition. The online ticket ordering system lets you choose the exact time of your visit. That’s why we recommend buying tickets online before coming to Kolejkowo.
Is there a time limit for sightseeing?

There are no time limits. You can stay inside as long as you need until the closing time. Typically, our visitors spend 1,5 hours inside.
Is Kolejkowo appropriate for small children?

Yes, it is! Kolejkowo is equally interesting for children and adults. Children usually pay attention to trains and vehicles movement, whereas adults focus on details such as figures and life-situations shown in the miniature world.
Does the staff speak foreign languages?

Yes. Our staff and guides speaks English.
We also offer paper guides with a description of the entire exhibition in the following languages: Polish, English, German, Russian, Ukrainian, Czech and Spanish.
